The modified version of the muscle car the Mustang is called the Saleen Mustang which is made not only by the Ford manufacturers but also by some other companies around America. The Saleen Mustang is something that is completely different to the standard muscle car and is often qualified as a racing car for certain sport racing events. Having a larger engine capacity and more power the Saleen Mustang can ultimately blow most of the muscle cars in the American and European market out of the water. Not only in looks, power and in style there are many cars that cannot keep up an appearance compared the well refined machine.
The Shelby Mustang and the GT 500 Mustang are also a part of this family which is specifically designed for racing just like the Saleen Mustang is designed for. With all the extra options for racing it is easy to see that the companies spent a lot of time and money improving these vehicles over the years. A straight six cylinder was replaced by the V6 engine and the V8 engines got more and more powerful over the years too. The inside of the engine bay looks like something out of the future and is nothing like the basic models of the 1960s when these cars first came into their prime.
The saleen vehicle was the looker of the fleet which was partly designed to be a head turner as well as a car designed for speed. Even though the original Saleen Mustangs where bulky and sluggish of the line the new modifications are enough to ensure that these cars are quick off the line as well as been able to get to high speed quickly. The average of around 450 horse power pre engine with the modern 6 speed gear box the Saleen also has inner trims that make it more desirable than many other cars in its group. Leathers and other fashionable trims are optional extras and easy enough to change if you own an older model car.
