Going for my first ride in my Saleen Mustang

We started to look for my first car using the daily paper to search for bargain but I decided that my next car needed to be a new car and not only new but one of the American great muscle cars of the 21st century. The new saleen mustangs were priced in my price range and I certainly liked what I sore. It was the old classic shape of the 1970’s mustangs but with a new motor, new color schemes and a revamped dash display. So what was the next step? I looked online and found the style I was looking for, the one with the fast back look and the perfect mustang color. The all new 2007 Saleen / Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang which was designer orange with black racing stripes.

This limited edition monster was fully decked out with the big block 302 hemi 400 bhp engine, quick shift automatic or 6 speed manual gearboxes. It has the standard letterbox blower sitting on the engine mount and the classic louvers across the back window. Personally I think I will take the louvers off because they make it look a little cheap. It comes with 14 inch wheel trims, leather reclining seats and complete climate control. They have standard power steering and front and rear disc brakes for performance and handling benefits. But most of all it comes with a supercharged engine that will blow most other cars out of the water.

I brought the car right after my first test drive because I was totally in love with it. Amazing how a car can make you feel so young and happy but the saleen mustang certainly helped my regain my lost youth by always showing me a good time. I have quite a few speeding tickets now so I must start to drive a bit safer however when you drive a machine like this it is difficult to not to test its capabilities and put the pedal to the metal.

My first Saleen Mustang

I could not believe it when my dad pulled up out front in his new metallic grey and black stripped 2009 Saleen Mustang. Sure I had seen his 2007, 302 big blocks Mustang when he drove that home new but what blew me away that day was when dad got out of his new beast and through me the keys to his old one. My heart stopped, had I read this gesture correctly? Perhaps he was just toying with me; he had never let me drive his Mustang before. But he told me to jump in to my new car and he would drive my other heap down to the dealer to get what we could for it. It was such a thrill and rush to drive dad’s old car but the excitement grew as I realized this was now mine. A 2 year old Saleen Mustang all for me, it was lucky I didn’t crash it into a tree or something because I was so nervous and shaking with adrenaline.

Dad had given me the sterling silver Mustang that you can see advertised around the Detroit area and on the Mustang car commercials. I can tell you from experience that the commercials are not exaggeration the experience it is to drive a Mustang. I try not to spoil myself by driving it every day so the thrill will stay with me for a long time to come. Every now and again I thank dad for this exceptional gift and slyly ask him when he is going to get the next model. They still look incredible just like the original mustangs of the 70’s and the retro look just adds value to the charm and looks of the car. There are now supercharged model and a variety of dazzling colors to chose from, so if you are not as lucky as me and won’t be given a Mustang for some random reason then you should check out your local dealer who can inform you of all the latest deals in the yard.
